この動画は公益社団法人日本警察犬協会所属のドイツボクサー犬ブリーダーである大谷俊行氏による､ドイツボクサーの子犬の選び方の説明です。

まず、頭と顔：下顎切歯と上顎切歯の差は下顎切歯が上顎切歯より0〜1mm程度前に出ている程度が適当です。子犬分譲時に下顎が3mm以上出ている場合は、将来下歯がチラチラと見えることになります。
マズルは上品で、鼻はわずかに上向きで適切な長さです。後頭部は突き出ており、頭部のバランスが取れています。目の瞬膜の色は黒くて良好です。
体躯構成については：胸幅は良好です。肩甲骨と上腕骨の角度は良好で、前胸表現は良く、胸の深さは良好で、肘より下まであります。背線はまっすぐで、非常に美しく、とても良いです。後肢の角度と長さは良好です。尾付きの位置は高く良好です。尾を高く上げていることは、気質が良いことを示しています。 後ろから見たときの飛節の状態は良好です。活発で明るい性格も良いですね。これらの点は、子犬を台に乗せることで簡単に観察できます。→ 子犬を見て選ぶには30秒あれば十分です。→ 生後45日頃の子犬を選ぶのが最適です。

ボクサーは稟性が非常に大事です。稟性とは、持って生まれた性格、性質のことを言います。稟性が悪いとどうなるか、凶暴であったり、陰険であったり、臆病であったり、背信、このような性格はボクサーにはふさわしくありません。

First, the head and face: The difference between the lower and upper incisors should be such that the lower incisors protrude about 0-1 mm further than the upper incisors. If the lower jaw protrudes more than 3 mm at the time of puppy sale, the lower teeth will be partially visible in the future.

The muzzle is elegant, and the nose is slightly upturned and of appropriate length. The back of the head protrudes, and the head is well-balanced. The nictitating membrane of the eye is black and of good quality.

Regarding the body structure: The chest width is good. The angle of the scapula and humerus is good, the chest expression is good, the chest depth is good, and it extends below the elbow. The spine is straight, very beautiful, and very good. The angle and length of the hind legs are good. The tail is positioned high and good. A puppy with its tail held high indicates a good temperament. The hocks, when viewed from behind, are in good condition. A lively and cheerful personality is also a plus. These points can be easily observed by placing the puppy on a stand. → 30 seconds is sufficient to see and choose a puppy. → Choosing a puppy around 45 days old is ideal.

Temperament is extremely important for Boxers. Temperament refers to the innate personality and nature. Poor temperament can result in a dog that is aggressive, insidious, timid, or unfaithful; such personalities are unsuitable for a Boxer.
